Had a fun night tonight, my first time in Black Temple. It was a great workout for druid versatility.
I was DPS for Naj'entus. That fight has a weird thing where you have to burst a shield every minute. And when you do, everyone in the raid takes 8500 damage. I found the most useful thing I could do after that burst was heal. Pop Tranquility the first time, then later when the big heal was on cooldown spam Lifebloom and count on weapon autoswitch to make it count. That boss is basically a healing race and druids can heal, even if not very much in cat gear. Here's a fight where the new Nurturing Instinct may also be useful, even that crazy T5 set bonus for instant Regrowth.
After we downed Naj'entus (a guild first!) I went on to help tank the horrible 10 pull of little elementals. Things went badly there and most of our cleansers went down, so I ended up spamming Abolish Poison and chugging mana pots so our last few standing guys could grind out the mobs.
And then we go out in the open where my trash tanking job was to pick up the guys flying in the air. No way to hit them from the ground except ranged attacks, so that's me spamming Moonfire to try to get a bit of aggro and get them to come to me. That part of the instance is outdoors, too, so in theory we can Entangling Roots and use travel form. Fun!
It sure is easy standing in front of a mob and spamming Mangle. But it's fun to get a workout doing different things, too.
