UPDATE: I found a work-around for this.
Click create and then back, the camera will pan down and you have a few seconds where you can click the little guys in the back.
Just made a Goblin, and he is behind my Chosen and cannot be selected as far as I can tell..
One thing they need to impliment is a list somewhere, so long as they keep it like this, so the shortie Gobbo's don't get lost in thr crowd.

They could made the arrow keys select the characters as well.
Sadly, you're not the first person I've seen with this issue. Definitely report it to Mythic, they've got to come up with something soon.
